TC 2013: The Rainy Day

I'm a little behind on my T-city posts! Better late than never :)

We wanted to trek out to Fishtown(Leeland) Michigan one day and (mainly) go to the Dam Candy Store.
The morning started out with rain.
So we drank coffee and waited.
Levi tried on wigs.
We waited some more.
Grandma made cookies.
Finally we just went pretending like the rain was gone.
That didn't take the rain away but at least we got our Jelly Beans.

Oh the way back to their house while getting "high"on an assortment of jelly bean flavors, I announced that I'd always wanted a turtle. It's seriously always been a lifelong dream of mine. Well come to find out they had a turtle that they had been trying to give to a good home because most of their kids were away at college and they couldn't seem to find anyone who would take him.
So that's the story behind the turtle in the last picture.
His name is Otto.

We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening watching movies and eating ice cream.

isn't he cute?! :)

TC 2013: The Beach

Went to the beach on Lake Michigan one afternoon.
Beautiful blues, cool water, good friends, sun shining.
Perfect afternoon.

Levi convinced me to swim out to a sand bar that he spotted. I ended up breathing in short gulps to get out there because the water was chilly, then when we reached it, it almost was over my head.
#shortpeopleproblems
"Oh. I guess it's not much of a sandbar."
says Levi sheepishly.
lol, made for a good memory though.

I love Michigan beaches.
<3
I always leave my heart there when I go.

TC 2013: The Wedding

Last week I was in Traverse City, Michigan.
I went to one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to.
It was in a barn. On an orchard. In Lake Leelanau. With an outdoor reception. The girls wore lace dresses. The guys wore suspenders.
Seriously.
The bride's cousin took the photos and I cannot wait to see them!!
The groom's mother was like a daughter to my grandma and grandpa. So the groom and his siblings are like cousins to me. Although we are older now and don't see each other much, we always have a good time whenever we are together. I SO wish I would have taken more photos at Aaron's wedding but I'm happy with what I did get, since it allowed me to enjoy myself more.

*stay tuned for more of my visit*

First kiss!!
